Comprehensive Plan for quantitative and qualitative needs of various types of Water in Khuzestan Steel Company

In line with the development plans of Khuzestan Steel Company and as a continuation of policies to increase steel production in Iran, including Khuzestan Steel’s contribution, the project to expand Khuzestan Steel’s capacity from a nominal 1.5 million tons to 2.4 and subsequently to 3.4 million tons was executed by SMS DEMAG company.

Considering the new agenda to achieve a 5.2 million-ton capacity, the qualitative changes in the Karun River, and the critical importance of water quality in steel production, the necessity of ensuring both the quantity and quality of water for various units of Khuzestan Steel Company highlighted the need to review the water production and distribution process for these units. Additionally, given the requirement for a comprehensive document detailing water consumption by type of use and expected quality for future planning, the project “Preparation of Revision No. 10 of the Document for Determining New Water Consumption Values” was defined and communicated to Saazab Ahvaz consultant via letter No. 107/6500/S dated January 25, 2021.
