Phase 1 and 2 Studies of the Comprehensive Wastewater Plan for Hamidiyeh City and Its Satellite Villages

The Phase 1 and 2 Studies of the Comprehensive wastewater plan for Hamidiyeh City and its satellite villages were assigned to this consultant by the Khuzestan Province Water and Wastewater Company. The satellite villages include Seyyed Abbas (Shariati), Shobisheh, Kut Seyyed Naeem, Dehkadeh, and Seyyed Yaber. Two of these villages—Seyyed Abbas (Shariati), which is part of the Central District of Allah Akbar Rural District, and Kut Seyyed Naeem, which is part of the Central District of Humeh Gharbi Rural District—are administratively under Dasht-e Azadegan County.

This project includes the collection, conveyance, treatment, and disposal of wastewater. For the project area, the population was estimated to be approximately 38,771 at the start of the project in 2021 (1400 in the Iranian calendar) and 53,077 by the end of the project in 2046 (1425 in the Iranian calendar). The preferred technical and economic option, titled ‘Implementation of a Network for Collection and Conveyance to a Centralized Treatment Plant for the Entire Project,’ was selected. In this option, the wastewater from the villages of Dehkadeh and Shariati is conveyed under pressure to the city of Hamidiyeh and then, along with the wastewater from Hamidiyeh, transferred to the central treatment plant. The wastewater from the village of Seyyed Yaber is added midway along the transfer line from the city to the treatment plant. Wastewater from the village of Kut Seyyed Naeem is also conveyed to the treatment plant jointly with wastewater from the village of Shobisheh.
The most technically and economically suitable pipe material was found to be double-walled polyethylene; therefore, the gravity pipelines are designed using double-walled polyethylene pipes. For the pressurized transfer lines, single-walled PE100 polyethylene pipes were used.

The preferred technical and economic option is a centralized treatment plant for the entire project flow, using a carousel oxidation channel.
